Choose the 2-hour option to visit the National Museum and see highlights of the New Town, such as the Rondo Cubist Art Deco style Adria Palace, the Church of Our Lady of the Snow, and the Cubist Lamp Post. The National Museum is located in the historic Wenceslas Square, near landmarks such as the Koruna Palace, Lindt Building, Hotel Evropa and the Melantrich Building. It’s a historic site of the Velvet Revolution demonstrations that led to the fall of the Communist regime in Prague.
The building of the National Museum itself is also a national cultural monument. You will be astonished by its majestic exterior and interior design, with a huge glass dome, stone statues and the finest details. There is also a New Building, connected to the Historic Building by a tunnel. With skip-the-line tickets, you can jump ahead the queue to enter the museum and simply enjoy its amazing exhibitions with expert commentary.
Among the museum’s treasures you will discover valuable items of Czech kings and emperors, mediaeval artefacts, memorabilia from WWII, and objects from the Cold War era. The temporary exhibitions focus on ancient and modern themes, such as the Egyptian exhibition of Sun Kings, featuring a unique royal statue of King Raneferef and an extensive collection of statues from the tombs of Princess Sheretnebt and the scribe Nefer. There are also natural science collections, such as the Mineral Hall.
Choose the 3-hours option to enhance your experience with a short walking tour of the Old Town and its highlights. See the State Opera, the beautiful Jerusalem Synagogue, the Municipal Office, and the Powder Tower, which marks the road to the Old Town Square. Admire the 14th century Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn, which stands behind the House at the White Unicorn.
