Activity details
Book the 2-hour walking tour to uncover Einstein’s Berlin from 1914 to 1932. Starting at the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of peace and freedom, stroll down Unter den Linden and see landmarks tied to his legacy. Pass an Einstein café, then pause at Bebelplatz, the site of the Nazi book burning that foreshadowed the horrors to come—an event Einstein narrowly avoided by fleeing months earlier. Visit Humboldt University, formerly the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences, where in 1915 he presented his groundbreaking field equations of general relativity. Admire the stunning New Synagogue, where Einstein played violin in the Jewish orchestra, and hear how his Jewish identity shaped his life in Berlin. A Private Guide ensures you get a personal, in-depth experience with expert commentary in your chosen language.
Choose the 3-hour option for a deeper look into Einstein’s Jewish heritage with a guided visit inside the New Synagogue - Centrum Judaicum. Built in the 19th century, this beautiful synagogue was severely damaged during Kristallnacht and later restored. Gain insight into what it meant for Einstein to be Jewish in Germany as anti-Semitism grew under Hitler’s regime. A private tour allows for a more intimate exploration of this crucial chapter in history.
For the ultimate experience, book the 7-hour option to explore Einstein’s legacy in both Berlin and Potsdam. This tour includes a walking tour of Berlin, with a visit inside the New Synagogue, plus round-trip train tickets to Potsdam. There, visit the Albert Einstein Science Park and see the Einstein Tower, an architectural marvel built to test his theories. If time allows, discover the Einstein Forum and more of Potsdam’s highlights before returning to Berlin. This full-day adventure is perfect for those who want to fully immerse themselves in Einstein’s world.
