This 2-hour walking tour of the historic center of Paris includes historical monuments and places related to Napoleon Bonaparte. Our Expert Guide will uncover with you the true story of this famous French emperor and military commander involved in the French Revolution, the Revolutionary Wars, and the Napoleonic Wars in which between 3-6 million people died. How did he gain a reputation as one of the bloodiest rulers of Europe?

Our tour starts in front of the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral, where Napoleon I was crowned as the Emperor of the French. The guide will lead us to the Hôtel de Ville and show us Caserne Napoléon – the barracks that Bonaparte built to protect the City of Paris. We will learn about his rise to prominence during the French Revolution as we pass by Tour Saint-Jacques, and about his victorious campaigns commemorated by the Victory statue in Place du Châtelet. Another place of interest will be Pont Neuf with the statue of Hentry IV, which was was made using the bronze melted from the original statue of Napoleon at Place Vendome. We will end our tour in the magnificent courtyards of the Louvre Museum, which was called Musee Napoleon during Bonaparte’s lifetime as it housed the art he plundered on his campaigns.
