Activity details
With so much to see, there is no better way to explore Prague than on a bike. We will rent the best professional bike for you and show you the best highlights of Old Town, Lesser Town and New Town, with lots of nature all around. Get active and discover the beauty of the diverse and vibrant city center in a time efficient and environmentally friendly way.
For the 2-hours tour, you’ll hop on your bike and cycle by the Municipal House and the Powder Tower, then follow the Celenta road towards the historic Old Town Square. There are a plethora of monuments to explore here, from the Old Town Hall featuring the 600-years-old Astronomical Clock, through the House at the Minute, to the 12th century St Nicholas’ Church. Behind the House at the White Unicorn, you will also spot the Church of Our Lady before Týn, decorating the city skyline with its 80m unique spires and ornately carved Gothic exteriors.
The route will continue past the New City Hall and through the inner courtyards of the National Library with the Klementinum. You will ride under the Old Town Bridge Tower and cross the Charles Bridge featuring some 30 Baroque statues depicting Czech saints and selected biblical passages. In the Lesser Town, you’ll make a stop by the colorful Lennon Wall and then cycle towards the Lesser Town Square. Here, you will see the Baroque pearl of Prague, St Nicholas Church, the Column of the Holy Trinity and the Sternberg Palace.
Back on the other side of the Vltava River, you will admire the grand architecture of the czech philharmonic Rudolfinum and continue cycling through the Jewish District, where you’ll see landmarks such as the Jewish Town Hall and the Spanish Synagogue. You will ride through the Týn courtyard with the Granovskych Palace, and next to the Basilica of St James with its beautiful Baroque frescoes, before finally reaching the bicycle rental shop where you’ll return your bike.
Choose the 4-hours route to see even more amazing landmarks and enjoy the city’s nature. Once you cross Charles Bridge, you will cycle through the peaceful Kampa park and then cross the Vltava River again to admire the monuments along the riverbank, such as the National Theatre, the Goethe Institute, Žofín Palace and the Dancing House with its curving modern architecture.
After crossing the Legion Bridge, you will see the Memorial to the Victims of Communism, the Church of Our Lady Victorious and The Infant Jesus of Prague, and the Lesser Town Square. You will then cycle uphill to the historic Černín Palace, the pilgrimage site of Loreto, and the Hradcany Square, with the Rococo-style Archbishop Palace and the entrance to the world’s largest ancient castle – Prague Castle. Cycling along the castle walls you will marvel at the amazing views over Lesser Town and then cross the Vltava River again to follow the route back to the bike rental shop.
If this is still not enough for you, then pick the 6-hours route to enjoy an extended route. From the Dancing House, you will cycle through the green areas of the historic Vyšehrad fortress, featuring the stunning Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, and a sheer number of amazing artworks and sculptures. You will see New Town landmarks, such as the Prague Congress Center, National Museum and the Jerusalem Synagogue. You will cycle through the Na Příkopě street with palaces and upscale shops to the Legion Bridge, then follow a route through the Lesser Town. In addition to sightseeing more historic places and enjoying the green parks along the way, you will also have some free time to grab yourself a local snack.
